How I Can Help

Getting Started

If you've decided you'd like to begin counselling, or you're experiencing a difficult time and feel you need support, you'll probably want to arrange an appointment as soon as possible. As I receive a high volume of enquiries, I recommend getting in touch to check my current availability. If I'm unable to offer you an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, I can provide details of other qualified counsellors who have completed one of our training programmes.

Individual Counselling

If you're seeking individual counselling, there's no need to complete a questionnaire before making an appointment. I offer both short-term therapy (typically 6–12 sessions) and longer-term, open-ended therapy, depending on your needs, goals, and preferences.

Couples Counselling

If you're seeking couples counselling, the first step is for each partner to complete an Individual Couples Questionnaire. These questionnaires help me gain an understanding of your current circumstances before we meet. Please return them as soon as possible so that, where appropriate, we can arrange your initial appointment.

Your First Session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any questions or concerns you may have. I'll also explain how I work, including confidentiality, the counselling process, and what you can expect from our sessions.

Together, we'll consider whether short-term or longer-term therapy is the most appropriate approach for your situation.

There is no obligation to continue after the initial session, and you are free to end therapy at any time if you feel it is the right decision for you.

Appointments and Payment

Appointments may be cancelled without charge provided at least 24 hours' (for individual sessions) or 48 hours' (for relationship counselling) notice is given.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. The remaining balance is payable by bank transfer on the day of your appointment.

How to Book

If you're ready to arrange an appointment, or would simply like to ask a question, please don't hesitate to get in touch by phone or email. I'm always happy to discuss your needs and answer any questions before arranging your first session.

Before your first appointment, please take a moment to read the relevant therapy contract, which explains how I work and what you can expect from therapy.

If you decide to go ahead, please complete the relevant form before your first session.

If you're attending as a couple, each partner will also need to complete an Individual Couples Questionnaire before your first appointment.
